Yamaha Ray’s Teaser Campaign: What’s Your Story?
Yamaha
is gearing up for the launch of Ray, it’s first scooter offering, ostensibly as
a competition to the youth targeted Vespa, TVS Scooty, Mahindra Duro DZ and the
likes. They have roped in Deepika Padukone as the brand endorser and have
started a teaser campaign online.
As a run up to the September launch, the promo page is running a ‘What’s your Story?’ campaign where participants need to upload pictures and share experiences of their first adventure.
Frankly between all web and Facebook brand campaigns, all of us will have exhausted our life stories. This seems to be the simplest idea to pitch and execute. Nonetheless, what stands out for this campaign is the execution.
The jazzed up visuals on the well-designed page create an impact. The UI is simple, the creative is great and the layout puts together everything that you would possibly need to see or know. There is a video of Deepika narrating her story of how she got her big Bollywood break, in addition to the contest details, story upload form and links to Yamaha Ray’s social media engines. Visitors can also browse through posted stories.
The only issue is that the url is non-scalable. I would think that once the promo is over they will need a different weblink to host their launch content.
