Forest Hero is a new campaign from Greenpeace India, as a part of its Save Junglistan Initiative, to protect our forests from indiscriminate coal mining. Destructive Coal mining in Central India is taking our forest communities, environment and fauna to the brink of disaster, and what better way to rally support than to fire a campaign using the web and social media. We have seen the power of social media when it comes to creating awareness around pertinent issues that affect us and our collective present and future.
The Forest Hero is a new viral (superbly shot and put together) video application that users can personalise and share and in turn, make a small difference by driving awareness. The Forest Hero microsite, right from the pre-loader to the viral video and nuggets of information about coal mining, is a visually impactful, brilliant and meaningful execution. The application connects via Facebook, lets you pick a picture from your Profile Picture album and generates your own personalised video.
